This is Peter Giddings 1935 Alfa Romeo Tipo C 8C-35, chassis #50013
(Scuderia Ferrari #65) at the Palo Alto concours. Peter races these
old cars at the CSRG races. One time I saw the 1935 Tipo C at a CSRG
race, but it had a new paint job. He said, no that is a different car
than this one. They have adjacent serial numbers!

Argentina-Alaska - Following their Dream - 22 Jun 2003.
Herman and Cande Zapp of Buenos Aires are dreaming of driving a 1928
Graham Paige from Argentina to Alaska.They've been on the road for 3
1/2 years on that project. Their parents expected them back after a
couple of days. Thay had a baby on the way, ran out of money within 6
months of starting and have now figured out how to self finance the
trip by selling paintings and a copies of their book for $10. They had
a spring break down in Mexico, but was given a part from an antique
car show down the street.

Swap Meet at the Campout - 08 Jun 2003.
The swap meet is on Sunday. We had a full day of driving in front of
us so did not stay very long. We did make a walk around and saw some
interesting things including a couple of guys that create wood rimmed
steering wheels.

restore and create race cars for customers including a pair of 356 for
Ted Rogers, and John Thornton's 912.

California Salvage operation and trucked 23 semi trailer loads of

Parts Obsolete Campout - The Trip - 05 Jun 2003.
This was a long trip for Rick and I. We hoped the old car would
survive but did not really plan for it not working. We did have a
couple of minor problems with the dip-stick tube comming loose from
the case which led to some erroneous oil level readings. We also had
to stop often for Rick to attend to his medical needs. But I know he
enjoyed the trip a lot.

Parts Heaven Councours & Swap Oct 2000 - 08 Oct 2000.
Sunday October 8 was not a good day for a Porsche club event because
of the competition from other venues. The Raiders were playing the
49ers. The Yanks were playing the As and the Mets were playing the
Giants. It was Fleet Week in San Francisco where the Blue Angels were
performaing. As a result there were fewer swap meet booths and fewer
concours entries than usual, but we still met a 912 owner for the
first time, saw some nice cars and took some pictures.

Lodi Concours Yosemite Region 2000 - 17 Sep 2000.
My brother Rick and I drove the 912 to Lodi on September 17 to the
Yosemite Region Concours held at the Wind & Roses Inn. The little car
ran perfectly, complete with new engine and door sound dampening,
getting over 24 mpg for the trip. Traffic seemed to be going at least
70 mph and we still have noticeable acceleration at those speeds.
