Fresno Greater Valley Concours 2002
The Greater Valley Concours d'Elegance on the California State
University grounds in Fresno has a Concours within a Concours. The
Sequoia Region of Zone 7 of the Porsche Club of America hosts the 2nd
Zone Councours of the 2002 season. There are 48,000 members of the
PCA, making it the largest single marque car club in the world. Zone 7
covers Northern California and Nevada. The Sequoia Regian again
provided a hospitality tent and sandwich lunches.
There were two 912s at the show each of which we've seen before. They
get better and better each year.

since the last time we saw the car.

| We arrived in time to see his car judged. Here is Ken and judge Phil

| Most of Ken Brown's 1967 912 was in the shadows, so I did not take
many pictures of it. Here is a detail of the rear bumper and tail
light. In spite of recieveing poor publicity from me, his car took 1st
place in the competition.

| Here is the Ken Browns '66 912 in the forground with the line of the

| Here is Arnold Zeiderman from Sutter Creek, 1973 911T Targa.

| This car was in the same class as Ken Browns and took 2nd prize. It is
a very nicely prepaired car.
I din't find out the story on the extra brake light.

| One row of Porsches were the Zone 7 Concours. Here are those being
judged by the Greater Valley judges for that competition.

| This is the rubber on the rear quarter window of Phil Lawrence's '72
911. I was inerested in this detail because I've learned that my
installation of this rubber was incorrect. We'll find out more about
that during the comming restoration work.

Other Concours Entries that caught the camera's eye
Ron Spindler's 1949 Triumph 2000 Roadster.

"The American", a 1902 pumper served Reno, NV, for 20
years. It is a horse drawn, coal fired, steam fire engine that weighs
9,300 lbs and can still pump over 1000 gallons of water per minute.

1950 Citroen, this model was featured in many films,
often driven by French gendarms.

A popular car is Jacque Harguindeguy's 1937 Delahay
135M Figoni Et Falaci Cabriolet, the 'Best of Show' at the Pebble
Beach Concours. We saw this car at the Palo
Alto Concour's last year.
