Freeing from the Outer Splines

• If the inner end of the torsion come free then it is a puzzle how to remove the spring plate from the torsion bar.
• I drilled a hole in the end cap and flattened the pointed end of nail, then pushed the nail through the hole while holding the spring plate away from the car.
• Lightly tapping on the nail pushed the torsion bar free of the spring plate.
• Cover the hole in the end cap with a piece of tape.
• I expected to find the inner rubber bushing vulcanized to the spring plate but it was not as you can see in this picture.
• The inner bushing is still stuck in its cavity in the body.
