Measure Relaxed Spring Plate Angle

• After disconnecting the swing arm from the spring plate, measure the angle of the top edge so that it can be returned to the same position.
• There are 40 splines on the inner end and 44 splines on the outer end.
• If the spring plate is off by one spline it will change the angle shown by 8 deg 10 min.
• This change is greater than the 5 deg resolution of the measuring instrument.
• The instrument is a Craftsman Magnetic base Protractor - Surface Level
