Elva-Porsche

l63-15.jpg

There were 19 Elva-Porsches created, originally for the United States Road Racing Championship in the mid 1960's. The cars were built in England with special engines supplied by Porsche. One of them won the 1963 USRRC Road America race driven by Augie Pabst and Bill Wuestofoff. They were a common sight at USRRC races during this period.

This one is #70P/048.

One of the Elva chasis was purchased by the Porsche factory, fitted with an 8 cyl engine and campaigned in the 1964 European Hillclimbing Championship along side a similarly powered 718 Spyder from the previous season. The 718 and Elva finished 1-2 for the year.
