Insulating the Engine Compartment

651-361-06.jpg

  • The Dynamat Xtreme damping material covers the sides back and top of the engine compartment.
  • A replacement damper pad is at the back of the engine compartment. This may or may not provide much sound insulation. I was trying to reduce high frequency noise when it was installed - but later found the high frequency noise was coming from the rear quarter panel.
  • While working above the carburetors, the air cleaners are removed and a plastic baggy held with a large rubber band is used to cover the open throats to keep junk from falling into the engine.
