Timing Marks

There are three points to note on the picture:

  1. The white mark on the front of the pulley. There is a line on the pulley which represents top dead center (TDC). I filled the mark with a bit of whit paint so is can be seen more easily.
  2. Behind the pulley is a 'V' groove in the engine casting. The measurements are done relative to this mark.
  3. below the main distributor case is a clamp bolt. Loosen this to twist the distributor which changes the timing.
