Re-Glue Driver's Side WindowThe driver's side window would not roll down after closing it when we drove into San Francisco on Saturday. The window had twisted so when you tried to roll it down, the front edge would come but the rear would lag behind, jamming it in the tracks. On Sunday I took off the door panel and found the glass had come loose in the track. As a quick fix I put some RTV glue (trade name 'Goop') in the track and re-seated the window. You can see a bit of the RTV on the left side just above the rail. As at least a temporary fix, it seems to work as well as it did before. It does not really slide up and down very easily and might have slipped laterally, the window seals may need replacement or maybe it's just old. |
