Tapping the New Short Shift Lever

032401-266.jpg

The inside hole of the shift lever is not the perfect size for any tap, but is closest to a 10mm 1.50 pitch. The hole is about 0.365 in. and the correct size is 0.339. As a result, any 10mm bolt will be loose in the threads. A slightly better choice would have been the 10mm 1.25 mm pitch whose ideal hole size would be 0344 in.
