Modified Rotor
[b]Note:[/b] This modification was needed in 2000, but the sleeve is
shorter and no modifications are required for the rotor.
- The Pertronix ignition does fit in a 050 distributor, but a
modification is required.
- There is not quite enough space for the rotor to seat after the
add-on sleeve is installed on the rotor shaft.
- The solution is to file down the bottom of the rotor as shown in
this picture.
- The sleeve has four magnets embedded in it that triggers the
hall-effect sensor driving the self powered electronic points.
- There is no improvement in power with this arrangement, but the
points always fire correctly and require no adjustment.
