Measuring and Realigning Connecting Rods

P 14b Connecting rod measuring fixture

Remove crankshaft and take off connecting rods, Mark connecting rods and caps to ensure reassembly in original locations and posi tions.
Remove bearing inserts.
Install connecting rod in P 14b measuring fixture.
Insert measuring pin into connecting rod and check for twists or bends.

Connecting rods may be realigned in the measuring fixture with the use of a MATRA aligning tool, or with other commercial aligning tools.
