Set Up for Racing

l50-04.jpg

This one appears to be running what appears to be an "Accusump" system. It's an auxiliary oiling system that stores oil under pressure in a cylinder outside of the engine. (In this case, the aluminum cylinder in front of the cooler, above the transmission) If your oil pressure drops temporarily as when going through a hard sweeping turn when racing, this pressurized oil gets diverted into the oil passages maintaining lubrication till the oil pump catches up. On top of that there is a breather box with hoses going to it, and in the center of the picture there is a fuel pressure gauge/splitter with it's accompanying hoses.
