908/3

The 908/3 was created for two events, the Nurburgring and the Targa Florio, windy courses where the 917 might not be competitive. They were campaigned for two season, winning 3 of the 4 races. It was designed to be as small and light as possible. The body shell was made from polyurethane and weighed 27 lbs. The final weight was 1,201 lbs. The engine was a 3 liter 8 cylinder outputting up to 370 hp.

At the 1970 Targa Florio, these cars placed 1-2-5, the winning car driven by Jo Siffert and Brian Redman. The second place car was number 40 driven by Pedro Rodriguez and Leo Kinnunen.

The 908/3 finished the Nurburgring 1-2 in 1970 and 1-2-4 in 1971.

Then most of the cars were sold to privateers. 11 had been built.
