Disassembled Lens

  • The old lens can now be pried away.
  • There was a rubber seal between the lens and the assembly. I used a clear RTV sealant to replace this seal.
  • The new lens slips into the slots, held in place by the RTV while you flatten the tabs on the back.
  • The new brass bushings which come with the new lens can be flared with a round head bolt tapped with a small hammer.
  • I held the bottom of the bushing with a Phillips head screwdriver in a vise. The shoulder on the screwdriver matched the bushing so the lens was not damaged.
