912 Hood with Guide Coat

021211-1572.jpg

The new hood has been primed and a guide coat placed on the surface. The next step is block sanding. The guide coat tells the technician if the surface is true. Low spots will still show the guide coat.

The block sander is typically a long narrow sanding fixture with a strip of sand paper attached to the bottom. Doing this job well requires takes some considerable skill.

Notice the Glasurit paint in the back-ground. The mixing of the correct color is done with the aide of a computer mixing station.
