Donor Cowl After Welding![]() The welds are all made with the Mig welder. To prevent a bubble of metal on the back of the weld, a piece of copper is held behind the area to be welded. This will pull heat from the area, freezing the back surface first. The copper does not get hot enough to melt. The hole in the foreground will be patched. It is from a gasoline cut-off valve on the donor car which was a wrecked race car. |
