Donor Cowl

020621-1257.jpg

This is a donor cowl from an old race car. The hole on the left was used for the fuel shut off valve and will have to be patched.

The steps to prepair this will be to chemically strip the paint, sand or sandblast any remaining paint and the spray with an etching primer to protect the surface during assembly.

The places that will be welded are sprayed with a zinc rich primer that reduces the potential for rusting at the weld areas.
