Ate Alignment Gauge

020615-1221.jpg

This gauge is used to align the piston in the caliper on replacement. The piston should press on the trailing side of the brake pad harder than the front. This is accomplished with the design of the piston which is recessed along one edge. The orientation is set perfectly with this tool. It is done as the piston is placed in the caliper with the top edge of the tool aligned with with the inside of the caliper opening.
